Cradle River pollution

  2023/08/10 9:20. Delportan sewage truck dump site.  Same as previously from this angle. Doesn't appear as if there has been any change here. No change to the office structure. There has been an attempt to raise the area at the back of the manhole, but this potentially has created a problem as the rocks can fall into the manhole and cause a blockage. No real other changes here so far. The change at the manhole seems to have reduced the spillages and so the waste going down to the Blougat. Manholes not overflowing, good sign.

 Bergland. 2023/08/10 9:05. Water level about normal.  Visibility staying poor, can’t see bed.  Water has a dark greenish tint to it.  There is a strongish smell, being blown away by the wind.  Some foam present. Gassing taking place.

  2023/08/08 12:50. Munsieville ext.4 sewage pump station.  The raw sewage from this location flows down a valley into the Blougat Spruit, a few hundred metres upstream from my Bergland observation point, but downstream from the outflow from Percy Stewart WWTWs

 Bergland. 2023/08/08 8:38. Water level about normal.  Visibility staying poor, can’t see bed.  Water has a dark tending towards black tint to it.  There is a strongish almost fish market smell.  Some foam present. Gassing taking place.

  2023/08/08 8:25  The Blougat where it flows under the N14.  Strongish smell present.
