Cradle River pollution

  2024/06/28 10:48 Delportan manhole has recently overflowed.

  2024/06/25 10:45. Riet Spruit at R563.  Dark greyish colour and slight smell. This is sample point 4,  results are posted on the Watercan map site.

 2024/06/25. 10:35. Riet Spruit at Malmani Road.  Quite clear and volume staying consistent.  This is sample point 3, results will be uploaded to the Watercan map.

Bergland. 2024/06/25 10:20 Water has a dark greyish black discolouration.  Strongish smell present close to the river. No foam, but lots of gassing and some floating black clumps. This is sample point 2, results will be uploaded to the Watercan map.

2024/06/25, 10:10 Percy Stewart.  Conditions largely unchanged although reports are that some work is being done at the sewage incoming sections to get for example additional settling dams functional.  No progress as yet regarding power within most of the plant.  Large portion of the plant is without power due to vandalism.

2024/06/25 10:00. Blougat Spruit close to Robert Broom in the Blougat Nature Reserve. Water slightly  discoloured and some foam. Sample point 1, results will be uploaded to Watercan map.  

  AMD 2024/06/25 09:20. Outflow from the wetlands before crossing the R24 and into the Krugersdorp game reserve. The outflow staying consistent.  Water tint staying consistent - slight brownish tint.  So no changes here. Can see buildup of chemicals on pipe over time from splashing water.

 2024/06/25, 09:00. Blougat at the N14.  Dark discolouration and lots of foam.  Strong smell present this morning.
