Cradle River pollution

2022/05/10, 09:50  Delportan, Following main sewer pipeline from the sewage truck dump site towards Percy Stewart.  Apparently there was a blockage on the main pipeline during last week, from the pics one can get an idea of the stuff that is being flushed.  A lot doesn’t break up so helps to aggravate a blockage.  This would have gone into the Blougat Spruit. Slightly further downstream.  But none of the covers have been placed back. Another manhole on the main line currently overflowing, and into the Blougat Spruit.  Filthy and smelly here. ‎Location: https://maps.google.com/?q=-26.079266,27.736279 Next one down stream, can hear the sloshing in the pipe but at least not overflowing.  Some more manholes, suspect the one on the left is the line from Delportan to the main line.

 Delportan  2022/05/10, 09h40  This is at the Delportan sewage truck dump site.  Still a mess with spills and waste that ends up in the Blougat Spruit.  In general no further action has taken place at this site since last year.

  Bergland. 2022/05/10 9h15 Water flow about normal.  Visually can see particles in suspension as well as clumps of black growths floating.  Possibly growths breaking away for river bed.  Slight detergent type smell this morning.  Increase in amount of foam.

 2022/05/07, 12h10  Blaauwbank, Danielsrust - water colour is not nice..however it doesn't smell like it looks. (Thanks Jaco)

 Bergland. 2022/05/03 8h40 Water flow still slightly increased.  Visually the same although can see particles in suspension.  Very slight smell this morning.  Small amount of foam.

  AMD 2022/04/22 09h15 Water flow normal,  discolouration normal.

 Bergland. 2022/04/22 8h45 Water flow still slightly increased.  Visually same as Tuesday.  Slightly stronger urine type smell this morning. Quite an increase in foam as well.
