Bergland. 2023/08/15 11:00. Water level about normal.  Visibility staying poor, can’t see bed.  Water has a dark lighter tint to it.  Seems to have fat/oil on the surface.  There is a strongish smell, being blown away by the wind.  Some foam present. Gassing taking place. Can only really see the fat/oil in the reflection of the sun.

2023/08/15 9:45. Delportan sewage truck dump site.  Slushy mess here this morning.   Trucks reversing are causing the sand to become mud and is slowly sliding into the manhole.  Can see a rock on the side that is ready to drop into the manhole. Trucks reversing are causing the sand to become mud and is slowly sliding into the manhole. There’s stuff flowing out the back fence again, going to the Blougat Spruit. This manhole on the main sewer pipeline has overflowed very recently. (Does it on a regular basis) Pipeline coming from Delportan to the main pipeline. A bend on the pipe is broken, splashing out.  Looking at the area would seem that if there is any increase in volume there is spillages here. Spillages possibly chemicals, fats, oils etc. from the various industries in Delportan. Looking into manhole, waste from right hand is from pipe from Delportan.  It looks as if the main pipeline is nearly at full capacity. There’s a lot of spillage on the road down to...

AMD 2023/08/15  9:10 The outflow still slightly increased compared to a year ago.  Interesting algae growth taking place on slow moving water.

2023/08/10 9:20. Delportan sewage truck dump site.  Same as previously from this angle. Doesn't appear as if there has been any change here. No change to the office structure. There has been an attempt to raise the area at the back of the manhole, but this potentially has created a problem as the rocks can fall into the manhole and cause a blockage. No real other changes here so far. The change at the manhole seems to have reduced the spillages and so the waste going down to the Blougat. Manholes not overflowing, good sign.
