Cradle River pollution

 Bergland. 2022/08/26 08h50 Water flow about normal.  Visibility poor, not as much  suspended particles. Slight smell.  Foam still present. Noticeably gassing rising from the river bed. The following photos were taken at this same location on the 1st April 2022.  The deterioration can be seen.  The level of the water is the same and upstream there are some springs feeding in clean water into the system.  I can only assume that overall there has been a consistent deterioration.

  Bergland. 2022/08/19 08h50 Water flow about normal.  Visibility poor, can see suspended particles. Smell being carried from Percy by the chilly breeze this morning.  Foam still present.

 2022/08/15, 09h23  Some bad news, heard that a manhole on the main sewer pipeline to Percy Stewart next to Robert Broom is overflowing into the Blougat.  The pipeline is blocked and needs to be dug open to repair.  No indication of how long to repair.  Will be going past there tomorrow morning. (Thanks for actions by Stephan and Edwina) 2022/08/16, 09:37  Manhole overflowing into the Blougat Spruit.  This is on the West Krugersdorp side. (on the eastern side of Robert Broom) Equipment is on site to dig but no idea how long to fix.  Problem could be under Robert Broom 2022/08/18, 09h55  It seems as if the overflow has been cleared but there is all the rubbish on the ground still.  Also not all manhole covers replaced.  No rehabilitation was done.

  Bergland. 2022/08/12 08h50 Water flow about normal.  Visibility slightly better than last week. Smell less this morning.  Foam same as last week.

 AMD 2022/08/12 09h15 Water flow normal,  increase in discolouration brownish colour as well as suspended particles..

  Bergland. 2022/08/05 08h50 Water flow about normal.  Visibility staying poor. Still a dirty smell this morning.  Foam slightly less than last week.

 Bergland. 2022/07/29 08h45 Water flow about normal.  Visibility staying poor. Strongish dirty smell this morning.  Foam still more than normal  as well.  No improvement since last week. It looks as if the overflow from Percy Stewart has been stopped and possibly busy drying out now.

 Percy Stewart 2022/07/22  09h00  There is some spillage taking place at Percy Stewart, the 1st photo is the perimeter road to the north and the second photo is taken through the fence  inside the property.  This has now been ongoing for at least 4 weeks.  If this has been a private concern the green scorpions would have had notices and fines issued weeks ago against the management.

All of this combines with the water flowing through the game reserve to create a lovely cocktail flowing through the Cradle. And of course some of this percolates into the ground water.
